Gameplay

The game is very easy. But the questions are not. The host asks a survey question that was “previously” survey to a group of 100 people. A certain number of answers are concealed on the board. These answers are ranked based on the survey. Only the correct answers typed will appear on the board. This will then have its corresponding points. The better the answer’s rank, the higher its points will be.

The Five Rounds

Family Feud has a total of 5 rounds. Each round has its own game mechanic.

Round 1

The first round has a question where your answer should match the Top 7 popular answers on the survey of 100. For each attempt to answer you are given 20 seconds. If an answer isn’t part of the answers in the survey or if the 20 seconds is up you will get a strike. The round ends when you get all the correct answers or get three strikes, whichever comes first. Once you get three strikes, the answer will then be revealed and you will only get the points you accumulated with the correct answers you’ve given.

Round 2

The second round has a question where your answer should match the Top 6 popular answers on the survey of 100. For each attempt to answer you are given 20 seconds. If an answer is isn’t part of the answers in the survey or if the 20 seconds is up you will get a strike. The round ends when you get all the correct answers or get three strikes, whichever comes first. Once you get three strikes, the answer will then be revealed and you will only get the points you accumulated with the correct answers you’ve given.

Round 3

The third round has a question where your answer should match the Top 5 popular answers on the survey of 100. You will earn points double in value for this round.

Round 4

The fourth round has a question where your answer should match the Top 4 popular answers on the survey of 100. For each attempt to answer you are given 20 seconds. If an answer is incorrect or if the 20 seconds is up you will get a strike, whichever comes first. The round ends when you get all the correct answers or get three strikes. Once you get three strikes, the answer will then be revealed and you will only get the points you accumulated with the correct answers you’ve given. You will earn points triple in value for this round.

Fast Money

Fast money round is definitely the best part of this game as you are given more time to get quality answers. On this round, you will have 50 seconds to answer 5 questions. Make sure to use your time wisely. Don’t answer too fast and really think about the top answer for each question. You can use the pass button when a question is quite difficult for you. They will then be asked again if you have extra time. Answers that are not on the survey will give you 0 points.

After the first set off 50 seconds, your answers will be rated and graded. You will then have another chance to answer the same set of the board for 55 seconds to reach the prize money. If you reached $20,000 jackpot, the game will automatically finish and it will add all your scores in the previous rounds. This will then give you your total winnings. If you don’t, you won’t win anything at all. Answers on the Fast Money round will then be shown.

Notes and Tips

  • The first rounds are very rushed. On the first four rounds, read the question as quickly as possible and type the answer as fast as you can. You better be a fast typer so you can place in your answers in time.
  • Once the game gives you the question, you have to type in an answer that is most likely to be the number 1 answer.
  • Do not rush the Fast Round. Use the extra time to think of quality answers.
  • Be careful not to misspell your answers.
  • Synonyms are acceptable in this game. Even if your answer is not in the same words with the system’s answer, it will still come through as a correct answer. Be careful with answers though. Make sure that the words would “hit” the correct terms used.

Presentation

Answering the questions

Graphics

The graphics are basically simple. Do not expect a high definition visual for this game. Although the game is based on the popular TV show, there is no virtual host on it. Everything is simple in presentation. You can just see the question, the board and the answers with their corresponding points. The board is easy to read. All you need to do is read the questions and type in your answers.

Sounds

A few plain sound effects from Family Feud are on this game. One example is the “ding” sound whenever an answer is shown on the board. You can also hear a “buzz” sound whenever you get an answer that did not make it on the board or if your time ran out. There is also the familiar clock sound as you play the Fast Money round. As for the background music, you can hear a certain portion that is from the Family Feud theme music itself. These elements really give you a game show type of energy and are really helpful in the overall presentation of the game. You can turn the music or the game sounds on the settings.

Game Controls

You need to install a flash player plugin to play this game. This is highly interactive. You will be using your mouse to click and select certain commands such as “Start Game” and “Pass”. Most of the time, you will be using your keyboard to type in your answers throughout the game.

Fun Factor

Overall, Family Feud on the web browser is an enjoyable game remake of the TV show. You will then be given simple questions that are quite challenging and enjoyable to answer. You can play this with friends or kids that can help you out to give you the top answers with the highest points. This will also be a perfect brain exercise on those days where you feel you need a little chill on the high-tension games. What better way to test out your general knowledge than Family Feud?

Games with 4 and above are recommended and fairly good that we would really like you to give the game a try. Similarly, games rated 2 and below are poor and we suggest that you just try other games with better ratings instead.

Family Feud victory!

Family Feud is very addicting. But we don’t know how long you’ll be addicted or how many questions there are that will soon be exhausted. You can play this game as much as you want until you get frustrated on some questions. The downside of this is it really doesn’t have a story. Additionally, you don’t find yourself in leaderboards. Point is, you just need to win the Fast Money round and that’s it. Even if you reached a perfect score in this game, no one would know. And your score would not be highlighted on an achievement page. Regardless, just for fun, you should try this game!
